- Oasis headlined the first night of the 1995 Glastonbury Festival. They were in superlative live form having played 151 live shows the world over in the previous 30 months. Tony McCarroll parted company with the band at the end of April to be replaced, at the suggestion of Paul Weller, by Alan White. Whitey's debut was at Bath Pavillion on the 22nd June, recording 'Some Might Say' for Top Of The Pops. Glastonbury was his second show.
- Liam is at the peak of his powers. Pitch-perfect, powerful and impassioned delivery of every word, and pumped full of adrenaline etc. This performance of 'Cigarettes And Alcohol' was amongst his best. 'Live Forever' is one of the greatest songs not just of the era, but ever written...

Notes: Full concert using all available pro-shot footage, filled out with an audience cam and completely remastered with The BBC's FM broadcast.
You might detect some 'static' noise here and there, most notably on the audience cam audio. It's on the original and I couldn't do anything about it. The audience camera is very shaky in parts but hopefully the new audio makes up for this and, besides, it's the only video footage of the tracks it's used on that has surfaced so far. If better footage shows up it should be fairly easy to cut in as I haven't used any cross-fades/blends. Approximately 40 seconds of footage is omitted where there was no FM sound or pro-shot video available. These short sequences are just shaky, nondescript 'standing-about' scenes with nothing of any value, historic or visual, to offer. Including them would have diluted the presentation to a greater extent than excluding them has benefited it.

Sources:
Primary: My 'Master' VHS recording of the footage that was broadcast on Channel 4 at the time. Secondary: A VHS2DVD recording of the footage that was shown on Japanese TV, transcoded to PAL. Tertiary: A DVD transfer of an audience-shot camcorder. The audio has been redubbed/sync'd with a full-res analogue recording of the show broadcast by BBC 1 FM. For scenes where the FM audio was not broadcast (just some between-song dialogue and the odd swear-word) I have used the best alternative (either the VHS or camcorder audio).
Tech:
All the audio editing is non-destructive other than the neccessary 'stretches' for syncing to the pictures, and crossfading between available sources. The Japanese TV footage has been colour-balanced to the primary source. All the footage has been cropped slightly to remove scanlines and garbage at the top and bottom of the picture. The bitrate whilst making these changes was as in the originals (oversampled by standalone DVD recorders) and the finished cut has been restreamed at 4200kB/s (5000 max) which is ample for the sources. The audio is PCM @ 48K/1536.
